Rarotonga to open borders with New Zealand
After 14 months of tranquillity and very few divers in Rarotonga, we’re opening up on 17th May to New Zealand in a much anticipated ‘bubble’
Dive Rarotonga have been fortunate enough and have diversified sufficiently in this period to have remained fully operational and fully staffed throughout.
Whilst not enjoying our reefs, wrecks and spectacular drop-offs with limited numbers of divers or providing training to over 80 local senior Students, we’ve been systematically updating and improving Dive Rarotonga.
A complete front of house shop re-fit, re-stocking with some fantastic Scubapro equipment, new boat trailer and repainting the customer briefing decks have been some of the noticeable tasks completed in a very long year. More subtly, equipment servicing has continued religiously, sanitisation protocols established and now routine habits and more bulk O2 on site for EANx Nitrox for those who wish to dive a mixture beyond wholesome Cook Islands air.
We also achieved PADI 5* Instructor Development Centre status and have introduced five unique PADI Distinctive Specialities all based around Coral Reef surveying and re-planting. Our Coral Transplant project being utilised as a real and hands on environment for these unique Courses.
