Lady Musgrave Experience recently launched a new custom-built aluminium dive vessel, ‘Underworld’.

Lady Musgrave Experience New Dive Boat Underworld

At 12 metre in length and powered by two 350 horsepower Yamaha engines its cruising speed is 23 knots and its top speed 40 knots. Set up to cater for 20 divers plus 4 crew, Underworld will service our Outer Reef Double Dives, featuring the pristine waters of Lady Musgrave Reef and boasting some of the world’s most amazing marine life. Underworld will also be utilised for our Tobruk Dive Experience, our premier scuba diving tour to ex-HMAS Tobruk off the Queensland coast halfway between Bundaberg and Hervey Bay.

Tobruk Wreck Dive:

After the recent scuttling in mid-2018 and in just a short two-year period a significant amount of growth has formed and a diverse range of marine life, including turtles, rays, groupers, cod and Spanish mackerel, has inhabited the area.

As the ship is laying on its starboard side, the full length of the ship and propellers is accessible, with the shallowest part of the deck in 10.9 meters of water, making a great dive for an open water diver. The entire wreck rests in 30 meters of water, an ideal dive for Advanced and Wreck divers to explore.  Seethe ex- HMAS Tobruk in its final resting place and be able to explore the ships decks and many rooms; troop areas, crews quarters, and the tank deck that have been used by the Australian military on a range of operations.
