Fiji now 340-days of being without any COVID-19 community cases

Today, Tuesday March 23rd 2021 see's Fiji reach a long 12-months of closed international borders, it also marks 340-days of Fiji being without any COVID-19 community cases. A mix of bitter-sweet there!

We have all heard from a seemingly never ending list of CEO's, Prime Minister's, Premier's, Presidents, Celebrities, Medical Personnel, Airlines, Travel Industry Representatives and Tourism Operators, Vaxxers, Anti-Vaxxers, SME's and Global Corporations and of course the Media with dozens of different takes on the pandemic we are all wading through. Talk about a head spin.

The Million Dollar question I get asked every single day is, when will we be able to effectively travel to Fiji or return to some sort of life as we previously knew? If we had the answer to that bobby-dazzler of a question Jeff Bezos would be in serious  jeopardy of losing his # 1 ranking as the world's richest person.

For us at Volivoli Beach Resort in Fantastic Fiji we are forging on with renovations and upgrades that would be almost impossible to do with guests on-site, discovering and mapping new dive sites, working with the local community and of course enjoying amazing sunrises and sunsets whilst sipping cocktails and ice cold beer under palm trees on the beach

We are also delighted and proud to announce that we are CareFiji compliant and in alignment with the globally recognised Safe Travels ensuring Volivoli Beach Resort is a safe destination for travellers when international borders eventually reopen.

Additionally vaccines started rolling out within the Fijian community 2-weeks ago and although nothing concrete as yet initial timelines indicate it should take a further 2-months to vaccinate the target ratio of around 630,000 of the adult population, which appears to be the magic number. This is another of many steps in the right direction towards assisting our international borders to re-open to tourists.

Keep an eye on our updates and happenings via our Facebook Volivoli Beach or Instagram volivoli_beach_resort social media sites – we would love to hear from you.

Our team, their families and the local community are all well and in good spirits albeit struggling with an even slower than normal ‘Fiji Time' pace. We dearly miss our guests and hope you are all safe and coping as best you can.
